The Black Dance Resource Center creates resources for the dance community at-large about the international Black Dance community that aid in the preservation of Black Dance history, document current Black dance news through the publication of Black Dance Magazine, support future generations of Black dance makers and addresses issues of equity, racism and privilege in the dance industry as a whole.

The Black Dance Resource Center is now a partnering organization of Headlong.

Founded in 2020 as a nonprofit organization based in Philadelphia, PA, the Black Dance Resource Center is led by Headlong's Managing Director Norma Porter who is also the publisher and creator of Black Dance Magazine.
